Celebrating Hidden Heroes at NYU Skirball Center

hidden heroesWe’re excited to announce that we partnered with The Andrew Goodman Foundation to honor the 50th Anniversary of Freedom Summer at the 6th Annual Hidden Heroes Awards on November 17th at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in NYC.

Click here to purchase your tax-deductible tickets for the Awards Ceremony and VIP Reception.

The Awards Ceremony will begin at 8pm and there will be a VIP reception starting at 6pm, which includes a light dinner and an opportunity to mingle with celebrities, including Steve McQueen, John Lewis, Harry Belafonte and others.

In addition to honoring today’s Hidden Heroes and Steve McQueen, director and producer of “12 Years a Slave,” this one night event will bring together Visionaries of Freedom Summer and youth activists to deliberate the future of Freedom and Democracy in a panel discussion.  Ticket proceeds will support The Andrew Goodman Foundation’s youth programs, Vote Everywhere and Fellowship for Social Change.

Please join us and a diverse group of community partners to honor this significant historical event (Freedom Summer 1964) and today’s social justice change agents. More information here: hiddenheroesa
