The Texas League of Young Voters Education Fund presents My College Votes! Student Vote Summit, a three-day summit for campus organizations who want to learn how to increase voter turnout on their college campuses for the upcoming 2012 Presidential elections. Selected campus organizations from Texas colleges’ and universities’ will learn the basic tools and strategies on how to host effective voter registration drives, GOTV (get-out-the-vote) events, and how to develop an election protection plan to ensure votes are being cast at the voting booth on Election Day.
The Summit will be held August 14-16 on the campus of Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas (often referred to as “ground-zero” for student voter disenfranchisement in America).
For more information about the Summit or to request an application for your campus organization, please contact Lindsay Gary at lindsayg@youngvoter.org. The deadline for applications is August 6, 2012.
