OccupyME TV is a news journal of the Occupy movement in the state of Maine. We are forward-thinking and socially-conscious independent gathering of journalists, filmmakers and news reporters in an age of change. We are seeking to explore the news in our state and to inform the audience to stories outside of the corporate influence. We are seeking to expose the cost of outsourcing in our state, Maine’s economy, the privatization of natural resources and public spaces, local events in the community, local politics, and to provide a source for Maine musicians and artists.

How are you making Maine a better place for young people?

OccupyME TV is providing people in Maine and online everywhere with pertinent and applicable news. OccupyME TV is about exploring the true issues which interest youth, and for those who are interested in a free and accurate description of events in our state and beyond. In an age of internet, youth in Maine will benefit from all of our stories and episodes online.  Branching from the Occupy Maine movement, we are forward-thinking and socially-conscious in an age of change.

What challenges in your community are you addressing?

We are seeking to explore the news in our state and around the world and to inform the audience to stories outside of the corporate influence. We are seeking to expose the cost of outsourcing in our state, Maine’s economy, the privatization of natural resources and public spaces, local events in the community, local politics, and to provide a source for Maine musicians and artists.

Who will benefit from your idea? How will people access and learn about the work you are doing?

Everyone in the state of Maine will benefit from watching our show on local cable, and those who wish to view our episodes online, because we wish to bring accurate news about current issues. You can find our episodes online through youtube, on the Occupy Maine webpage, and on Portland local channel CTN 5.

What major success would you like to see at the end or apex of your project?

OccupyME TV seeks to grow our show across the state, interview more guests and cover more stories across the Maine and beyond.
